Wall Street rises, US dollar hit fresh highs
FXStreet (Córdoba) - Despite moving off session highs, US stocks were rising on Tuesday, ahead of key economic data and as the Federal Reserve meets. European markets finished with modest gains.
Among indexes, the Dow Jones was up 0.15%, back above 17,000 while the Nasdaq was rising 0.34%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 closed with a gain of 0.29% while the Dax rose 0.58%.
The US dollar was rising across the board and reached fresh highs during Wall Street. Gold was trading near the lows, below $1,300, after making a sharp reversal from 1-week highs while crude oil was falling almost 1%, with the barrel under $101.
