Financial aid packages expected in Ukraine - BTMU

FXStreet (Barcelona) - Lee Hardman, FX Analyst at the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, expects the IMF to announce a financial aid package for Ukraine.

"According to the FT, the IMF is expected to announce a financial support package for the Ukraine today of around USD15 billion with initial aid payments potentially made by the end of April".

"Bilateral agreements between the Ukraine and individual countries are also expected to be agreed upon to meet the USD15-20 billion of financing that Ukraine’s finance minister Oleksandr Shlapk has stated is required. Japan has already agreed to provide about USD1.5 billion."

Private lending contraction continues for Eurozone

Eurozone private lending contracted further than expected in February, according to data released by Eurostat. Year-on-year private lending fell by 2.2 percent last month, showing a slower deceleration of credit contraction than consensus expectations.
