German prelim CPI: 0.4% m-o-m in March vs 0.5% expected

According to the latest data released by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), consumer prices in Germany is expected to be 1.6% in March 2018, up from previous month’s 1.4% but still lower than 1.7% expected.. 

Key points:

   •  On a monthly basis, the he consumer prices are expected to increase by 0.4% in March 2018.

   •  The harmonised index of consumer prices for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to increase by 1.5% year on year and 0.4% on February 2018.
