UK: Claimant Count Change falls further in June
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The number of unemployment people in the UK fell by 21.2K in the three months to June, following a 16.2K drop registered in the three months to May, National Statistics reported on Wednesday. Analysts expected less decrease of 8K. The Claimant Count Rate dropped slightly to 4.4%, following a 4.5% reading, against forecasts of remaining unchanged.
The ILO Unemployment Rate remained at 7.8% in May, according to market consensus. Average Earnings excluding Bonus rose 1% in the three months to May, following a 0.9% reading in the three months to April and below expectations of rising 1.1%. Average Earnings including Bonus increased 1.7%, in comparison with 1.3% growth and above projections of +1.4%.
